Diptych - Acrylic Paint on canvas. Done a good number of years ago. I like the formal figure dressed perfectly combined with the beautiful handwriting on the old paper. I don't know if the words are appropriate in the writing (to support the figure), but visually I really like the combination of tradition, elegant and old.

The folds and creases in the cloth are so realistic, I wish I could do that
Good work.

In my view as good as the yankees were in the first half of this game, thats how as bad they've been now. - Tim McCarver (on Family Guy)

This is a very beautiful piece. You did a great job making the paper looked aged and slightly damaged. The writing is beautiful (though I have no idea what it says), and it really compliments the figure of the woman (a geisha I imagine). She looks very beautiful. The kimono and her make-up look great. What a great piece. I'm glad you rediscovered it. :D

Thank you!! Unfortunately I am not sure what the writing is about either and this is part of the reason I did not post it earlier. I found the original paper sheets in an old bookshop in London many, many years ago and just loved the style of the script. The figure I also stumbled upon by accident and realised immediatly that the would work together as a diptych. I did the painting nearly 15 years ago.. best to you.
